Dr. Pei-Chi Lin brings a wealth of experience and a passion for choral excellence to the Dallas Philharmonic Choir. This section provides a welcoming summary of her role, background, and her enthusiasm for leading the choir into its next chapter of musical artistry.
Background and Experience
Originally from Tainan, Taiwan, Dr. Pei-Chi Lin is an accomplished choral conductor and music educator based in the Dallas-Fort Worth area of Texas. She earned her Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Choral Conducting from the University of North Texas, studying under renowned conductors Jerry McCoy and Richard Sparks, with a secondary focus in voice. During her doctoral studies, she served as assistant conductor for the UNT A Cappella Choir, University Singers, and Denton Bach Society, and was recognized with multiple music scholarships.
Dr. Lin brings over 25 years of experience in choral teaching and conducting. She has held faculty and conducting positions at several universities, frequently serves as an adjudicator and guest clinician, and has led workshops and performances across the U.S., China, and Taiwan. Notable engagements include guest conducting at the National Concert Hall in Taipei (2019) and the Weiwuying National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts (2024).
Current Roles & Artistic Vision
Passionate about choral education, Dr. Lin is currently the Artistic Director and Conductor of both the Dallas Philharmonic Choir and the Dallas Youth & Children’s Choir. She also leads the DFW Christian Chorale and previously taught at Tarrant County College and conducted the inOne Music Ministry Choir.
Beginning in fall 2025, Dr. Lin joins BASIS Plano Charter School as a full-time music teacher, where she teaches middle and high school music and directs the school’s orchestra, band, and choral programs.
Dr. Lin is known for her dynamic conducting style and engaging, humorous rehearsals. Her ability to inspire and connect with students through precision and warmth makes her a highly respected figure in both academic and community music circles.
